A late cold front in May?  Yes it happened.  And suppose to blow northeast the next several days and blow hard!  Today it was more north wind, but really late for us to be getting chilly weather.  The bait was very tough this morning we only caught a handful, but luckily it was enough to catch us 1 nice tarpon.  We did not have any other bites, we caught some snappers for dinner and then tried again for the last 45 minutes of the day but no more action with the tarpon.  Overall it was slow I talked to several boats and we were very happy to get our nice fish.

Did another full day with same group I’ve been fishing the last couple days.  We tarpon fished in the morning and had good luck.  Caught 2 out of 4 nice fish.  Jumped one off after a 10 minute battle, and the other spit the bait right away.  But caught a couple nice ones.  Bent the small rods after that for a while and then came back for the last hour and got one more tarpon.  So 3 for 5 on the day – good fishing!  The falling tide is moving more into the evening and the water looked gorgeous this afternoon, I think it will provide us with some good fishing the next few nights!

Had a group again today.  Winds howling 25-30 mph!  Some rain around but we didn’t get wet.  We tarpon fished in the AM.  Slow start, lots of boats hitting one of the ‘dead bait’ areas i like.  Nobody hooking up so we left after an hour.  Found em good in another channel and had bites right away on live bait.  Missed our first shot then hooked one immediately after and caught it.  Large 100 lb fish.  Then we went back and after 15 mins hooked another 60 lber that we caught.  After that my guys had enough and we bent the small rods for a while catching dinner.  2 outta 3 in an hour fishing that spot – not bad!  We tried in the afternoon for the last hour of the day but not bites and did not really see any fish.
