4/6/18 April Full Day tarpon fishing everglades national park

Got out with Carl and Buck, both of whom fished with me last year.  We did a full day and got out early as I had bait ready to go.  We found the tarpon where they have been.  Not quite as red hot of a bite today, but we made every shot count which was nice!  We got three tarpon early, Buck had the hot stick and caught two a 50 lber and an 85 lber or so.  He then had his rod in the holder and Carl got about a 50 lber as well (nice of him)!  After that we moved around a bit.  Found a bunch of fish showing way out side of us and tried to line up on them.  They weren’t really in the mood to play though we made several moves and had nothing but sharks!  We saw one person catch one out there though but that was it out of several boats.  We moved back into another area in a different channel, and saw quite a few tarpon here too.  More sharks to start but then Carl hooked a nice 100 lb tarpon!  We fought her for a good 30 minutes and rolled her over for a picture.  After that we had a little time left and I told the boys it’d be good to reload on our mullet as I am fishing with them again Sunday.  We were able to spend a little time throwing and caught bait for the next couple days.  Back at it tomorrow!  4 for 4

4/5/18 April Everglades tarpon fishing full day trip

Got out with Walt and Al again for a full day today.  April tarpon fishing at it’s finest!  We headed out early to beat the crowds.  The bite was very hot for us today.  We jumped a couple fish early on while the tide was changing.  Then when it started to fall, Walt had the hot stick!  He ended up catching 4 tarpon.  Then he let Al catch one he hooked.  Then Al was able to get his own that stayed on for him!  We also had several sharks throughout the day mostly black tips.  Just unbelievable fishing hopefully it stays hot a while longer.  The weather won’t shut them down but eventually the pressure might.  Back at it tomorrow!  6 for 9

4/3/18 + 4/4/18 Florida Keys April Tarpon Fishing Report

4/3/18 – Got out with Terrence and his son Shavon for a full day of tarpon fishing.  The bite was really good we got a couple fish landed early on in the first hour.  We moved around a bit and then jumped off 4 fish in a row so a little bad luck on hooking them there.  But good action overall!  We ended up getting another big tarpon after that a 120 lber.  We had a few sharks after that and then when the tide started in we had one more tarpon bite that we missed right before it was time to go home.  3 for 8

4/4/18 – Got out with Al and Walt today for a full day.  Little tougher today for us it’s gotten so busy in the areas I like to fish just absolutely crazy loaded with boats.  I haven’t seen it so busy like that in my life… can’t wait until the fishing around town turns on more so hopefully they’ll dissipate some!  Anyways we had some sharks early, had tarpon around us but they didn’t bite for us.  My buddy got in the right place though and he had quite a few bites fishing the other part of the party we had.  We tried setting up nearby but wasn’t happening for us.  I finally went and tried somewhere else by myself and we got into a good school.  Al landed a nice 150 lb fish.  Then we jumped another one off.  Then Walt got one that was almost the same size!  Both big fish took a good 45 minutes to land.  We jumped one more fish off after that.  Then things dried up we caught a few more sharks and then ran out of bait and called it a day.  Caught some bait on the way home for tomorrow as I have this crew again.  Getting out early tomorrow to beat the crowds hopefully get a good hour in before everybody shows up.  2 for 4
