10/3/16 October Tarpon Fishing in Islamorada

Another great day I had Chris over from the UK.  We caught plenty of mullet in the morning and headed to the tarpon grounds.  The fish were swarming and happy.  We had I think around 10 bites on the day, and by 10:00 AM had landed 5 fish it was incredible.  We ended up catching a few snook and tripletail later on to mix it up, and even in the last half hour we stopped to throw some artificials and hooked a tarpon while doing that on accident!  They just didn’t want to leave us alone.  Anyways a fantastic day, if you are down here this month and want to fish for tarpon get in touch with me.  5 for 10

10/2/16 October Florida Keys Tarpon Fishing Report

Stellar day again today in early October fishing for tarpon in the everglades of south florida.  We found some early but couldn’t get them to respond in the channels, so we ran out where we caught them yesterday in the afternoon.  They were there earlier today on the falling tide.  We ended up catching 3 until the tide quit.  After that we tried another spot just for a little bit while we waited on the tide.  Then when it started in we jumped another tarpon and then landed our final one.  All in all a great day!  Fishing tomorrow then some days off.  Looks like Hurricane Matthew is going to stay to the east of us, however we may likely get some rain and blustery winds, nothing crazy but may not be something you want to fish in.  Anyways if it ends up being nice, I am available so look me up if you are in the area and want to fish!  4 for 5

10/1/16 October Tarpon Fishing in Islamorada

Back at it again after a nice little Bahamas vacation and a few extra days at home to catch up on some things.  We fished today in the backcountry for tarpon and got a nice early start.  Caught some bait on the way out it was nice and easy.  We found tarpon in several areas, definitely still a lot around!  The wind today though was honking out of the north/northeast so I was worried they might be tough to find, though guys the last few days when it was flat calm said there were plenty.  It’s very nice to see this late in the year.  Anyways we didn’t have much luck early on we found fish but they wouldn’t bite, and one other area was dead.  But we found some at the 3rd stop and managed to get a couple bites and land a couple there.  Plenty of sharks kept us busy too.  In the afternoon we ran out towards the beaches and fished out there and we saw absolutely tons of fish in this area.  They were free jumping, busting, rolling, just about everywhere you looked!  They didn’t want to bite very well though but we managed to trick one in the last hour of our day.  Anyways we made all 3 bites count and it was a fun day tarpon fishing in October.  3 for 3
