3/6/15 March Tarpon Fishing in Everglades Backcountry

More tarpon action today in the backcountry.  Winds laid down to 5-10 mph, very nice.  We found fish in the channels we’d been fishing all this last week.  However they did not bite great today surprisingly.  We did hook a nice one right off the bat, about 120 lbs, and landed him.  We set back up and had a bit of shark activity, and finally jumped another fish.  Waited on the tide change hoping the incoming tide would be better, alas it was just more shark bites.  A couple other boats out there and each had a bite or two, but not the ‘red hot’ action we were hoping for.  We tried a couple other spots and ended up getting another tarpon and a few sharks to finish the day.  2 for 3

3/5/15 Tarpon Fishing March in the Florida Keys

More good tarpon action today.  We went 1 for 4 in the everglades this morning.  Couldn’t get ’em to stick on there but just one of those days.  We did some other stuff midday and then caught another 30 lb tarpon near home in the afternoon.  Things are getting consistent.  Look like the wind will lay down slightly tomorrow, maybe some big groupers will start to push in more and more.  Bait fishing should remain steady.  Now is the time to catch the silver king!  2 for 5

3/4/15 March Tarpon Fishing Continues in Islamorada

More good fishing today.  We hooked and landed 3 big tarpon in the backcountry today, lost another one on the bite.  Had leftover bait from yesterday.  We also caught a keeper cobia and some sharks back there.  Really good fishing.  The ‘red weed of doom’ is bad so there is a small window of good fishing, once the current starts rolling in hard it is getting worse.  Making it tough to keep baits out without getting weeded up.  Anyways I’ll be at it again tomorrow, still holding good on bait from the previous day. 3 for 4
