6/2/20 Half Day Epic bridge tarpon fishing bite!

Got out with Jonathon and Kaylee today for a half day trip.  Had a last minute cancellation and I normally don’t do many half days but figured I’d take what I could and conditions looked pretty good.  We got out early for a little better tidal window.  Caught a nice tarpon right off the bat that Jonathan got to jump in with and get pictures of!  We then got some live bait and headed to the bridges.  The bite was going off, every bait we put out got piled on quick.  Tarpon, jacks, cudas…  We caught 3 more tarpon including a 150 lber!  Missed a couple others, and caught a big jack and a few big cudas.  Just hot and heavy action it was a lot of fun.  Tide slowed down around 9 and it was time to go home after that and we caught our last fish right around 9:15 so perfect timing.  4 nice tarpon landed in 4 hours, can’t beat that!

Also just launched latest youtube video.  A cool compilation of Pete’s big everglades tarpon from a couple days ago.  Mic went out on the gopro but we put it to music and it’s really cool!

5/29/20 Couple tarpon from Ch 5 bridge

I had locals Bart and Kimmie out the other day.  We fished a 3/4 day locally around the bridges.  Found quite a few tarpon in a couple different spots.  They weren’t showing much, just laying on the bottom, and not very active.  Had to put some time in but we managed a couple bites and got a technical release on one, and the other to the boatside but unfortunately a shark got him after that!  Also some other action.  Youtube video is here, make sure to subscribe to see more!

5/23/20 May Tarpon Fishing in Islamorada at the Bridges

Got out for a full day today, haven’t had many charters as of late as the Keys are still shut down to visitors.  Though we will be back open June 1st and I’m getting pretty busy for June/July so book your trips now!  Tarpon fishing was incredible today… tons of fish.  We landed 5 and hooked another 4 or 5 I think.  Good bite on live mullet and dead mullet as well, everything we put out there.  Some insane battles around the bridge, and Lee even got to jump in with his fish that was in the 90 – 100 lb range.  Summer time tarpon fishing is right around the corner and July is often a superb month for that.  Some years it stays good through September even, and of course there are snook, redfish, tripletail, and plenty of other fish to target.  YouTube video of today will be out soon so make sure to watch and subscribe.  Give me a shout if you want to plan a trip, the fishing is great! 5 for 10
