5/14/16 Everglades May Tarpon Fishing

Today we got out after the tarpon we caught some mullet on the way out.  It was calm and found some balls out near the gulf.  Wasn’t easy but eventually got a decent throw.  Anyways didn’t see much for tarpon off the beaches and mainland areas but did get some sharks.  So we ran back towards some channels and had some luck there.  Ended up catching two in about 30 minutes, after that it shut down.  After that we caught a few fish for dinner.  2 for 2

Also yesterday we caught a big tarpon on a pilchards while snook fishing in the creeks.  1 for 1

And tonight we got out for an evening trip not much action early but caught one around 8:30 fished a little later hours.  1 for 1

5/12/16 Late night May tarpon Fishing

Took Richard out from the UK this evening for tarpon.  We fished a little later 6 to 10 PM.  Not much action early we saw a handful of fish rolling but not much activity.  Only saw one boat hook up while we were out down around the big bridges.  Anyways we made our way back to some channels and had a bite finally on the end of our first drift.  A nice big fish of 100 lbs or so.  We battled her for a good 30 minutes and got a few pictures before the end of our night.  Was glad to get one!  More of the big group tomorrow I haven’t really been tarpon fishing much with them, tomorrows the last day and the snook fishing has been really good so may stick with that, but we will see.  Will have a night trip again though too.  1 for 1

5/11/16 Everglades Tarpon Fishing in May

Today we weren’t planning on tarpon but we came across them anyways.  We were snook fishing with some live baits and the tarpon were rolling in the canals.  We ended up hooking a couple and getting two to the boat before they broke off and missed a 3rd bite.  Fun with the baby tarpons.  It was a stellar day with snook, trout, snappers, shark, cobia, and tarpon.  2 for 3

Last night we fished locally and it was tough.  We had one crush a crab and pull it off the hook but that was it.  Stayed an extra half hour too but no luck unfortunately.  Gonna mix it up again tomorrow with the corporate group I am still fishing so may tarpon fish a little we will see.  And going late tomorrow night to fish the falling tide at/after dark.  0 for 1
