More good tarpon action today we caught bait early and hit the channels. First stop we had the last of the outgoing tide. Saw a fish roll and we put out our baits and soon enough he was on! A small 35 lb fish but lots of fun. We caught a variety of sharks too not bad for the first hour of fishing. Once the tide quit we ran further west to catch the start of the incoming tide. We set up and soon enough we had some shark activity, then another nice tarpon of about 60 lbs. We landed him and soon after jumped another fish off, then caught another one of about the same size. Then several more nurse sharks and a big lemon shark. After that we caught a few blacktip sharks in another channel, no more tarpon action. Finished up bending the little rods with some various critters. Great day! 3 for 4

6/11/15 Islamorada Tarpon Fishing Half day in June
Got out early today and I had some leftover baits from yesterday. We had a nice northeasterly breeze that was cool and it was overcast all morning. We had the last of the incoming tide. We had a tarpon on fairly quick and caught him, then another one right before the tide quit. Both big fish in the 80 to 100 lb range. After we landed the second the tide had switched around for us nicely. We put baits back out and within 10 minutes we had a 3rd fish on, smaller guy of about 40 lbs. We landed him and that was about it for the morning. Great day 3 anglers each got to catch a tarpon on a half day, can’t complain at all about that! Nice to see the fish much happier with the wind going to a nicer direction. 3 for 3
6/10/15 June Tarpon Fishing Keys Islamorada
More tarpon fishing in the backcountry today. We found a few fish in the same channels I’ve been hitting the last few mornings. They are not happy though we did not get a bite out of them this morning. We ran to another area and gave it a shot and did end up catching a good variety of sharks including some hammerheads, bonnet heads, blacktips, and a big nurse shark. After that I ran way up in side the same channel to give it a shot sometimes the tarpon are up there. We ended up getting one right before the tide quit, a nice 85 lber! We landed him and the tide had changed by the time we got back – perfect! We had another bite about 20 minutes after and missed him unfortuantely. We did see a few fish start to roll and had another hour of fishing, but no more tarpon bites just a couple more sharks. Anyways glad to be on the board again! 1 for 2
