4/15/13 More big ‘poons!

Did a little tarpon fishing in the islamorada backcountry today.  Went 3/3 by 10:00 AM on some nice fresh mullet we caught 1st thing in the morning.  Did some other stuff after that because my anglers were already tired of pulling on the ‘big boys.’  The tarpon fishing in april here is red hot!  Thinking of doing some night tarpon fishing in islamorada?  Give me a call or shoot me an email – I have evening slots available as most my days are already taken months in advance.  We can put you on some nice florida keys tarpon fishing!

4/14/13 Tarpon going nuts in April in Islamorada

Sorry haven’t had time to post – been too busy catching big tarpon fishing islamorada in april!  Last couple of night trips we boated 2 fish each, 6 bites in 2 hours a couple nights ago and came in early… then last night 8 bites.  We would of caught 3 last night IF you counted the fish that jumped and landed on the bow of my boat, luckily to flop right back in the water and break off.  Hey that’s getting him ‘in the boat’ right, a standard catch for most anglers?  LOL!  The day before yesterday we caught 1 out of 2 fish early, and did some other stuff since I had the guys fishing for tarpon the next couple of days – including big sharks, ‘sea monsters’, and trout.  Today we capped off their 3 day adventure with a bang.  Backcountry tarpon fishing in islamorada we landed 6 big fish all over 100 lbs out of 13 bites of big fish in the air flying.  You don’t get much better fishing than that for florida keys tarpon fishing!  If your wanting to go I have some evenings available  though every day is booked the rest of this month and most of May.  However the evenings can be very, very good for big tarpon!

4/9/12 Good backcountry tarpon fishing

Today the fishing was much better than yesterday for the big backcountry tarpon fishing charters.  We ran back into the everglades where we had hooked a fish yesterday.  Very early the end of the falling tide was fishable – none of the red nasty weed that was balling up yesterday all over every bait making it unfishable.  We caught 2 out of 4 big tarpon, plus a few other sharks and such.  The everglades tarpon fishing should hopefully continue to be good through the week, however the falling water and first of the incoming tide are a must with the nasty, red weed that is coming in from the gulf.  These bad boys all ate dead mullet on the bottom.
